BONUS PREMIUM SEMINAR: Distributing Your Documentary or Factual Program To Worldwide Broadcasters

How to turn your Documentary into a more SALEABLE product with higher-profit potential. (Hint: it has nothing to do with attaching 'stars' to it!)

With MIPDOC and MIPTV right around the corner, it's time to look at selling your Docmentary or Factual Program. As a foreign sales agent, I spent years on the front lines at all the MIP's (MIDOC, MIPTV, and MIPCOM) selling, and raising pre-sale financing for Documentaries, Factual programs and series. Join me in this Seminar as I spill the beans on what international broadcast buyers are looking for, and how to sell them your program or idea.

Here's what we covered:

  • How to turn a single Docmentary into your 'profit center'
  • The power of the 'teaser trailer' and how to leverage it at film markets
  • The formats and genres that are in high demand from Worldwide broadcasters
  • Top territories that buy and what they buy
  • What typical international broadcast deals look like and your delivery requirements
  • Creating multiple hours of programming to make yourself more attractive to international broadcasters

  • MP3 Seminar is available to Film Specific Premium Members ONLY. Not a Film Specific Premium member yet? What are you waiting for? Click here to JOIN NOW!

    ABOUT STACEY PARKS

Stacey Parks is a former foreign sales agent and the author of "The Insider's Guide to Independent Film Distribution" (2007 Focal Press).

As a foreign sales agent, Miss Parks sold hundreds of films to worldwide distributors and helped filmmakers realize their dreams of distribution. She was also responsible for raising international co-production and pre-sale money for several films.

After spending many years deep in the trenches as a foreign sales agent, Miss Parks decided to write the book The Insider's Guide To Independent Film Distribution, since there was nothing else on the market that told the actual truth to filmmakers about the distribution game. Miss Parks has since launched the online Film Distribution community Film Specific (www.FilmSpecific.com) offering filmmakers from around the world the opportunity to interact directly with distributors.

Miss Parks has written articles on independent film distribution for numerous publications including MovieMaker Magazine, MovieScope Magazine, and is a regular contributor to Student Filmmaker Magazine. She has also been interviewed in the Los Angeles Business Journal.

Miss Parks holds a Masters degree in International Business from Pepperdine University and the Sorbonne in Paris, France. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California where she is a Sales Executive at BBC Worldwide and an adjunct professor in the Entertainment Studies department at UCLA.
