How come I can't login to the site? There is free content on the Film Specific website that is available to the public as well as content that is available exclusively for our website subscribers. All the content available to paid subscribers is available in our Member Resources area, free content is available in the Free Resources area. Both are accessible on the left side of this page. To see the type of content and many benefits which come with a subscription to Film Specific please see our Member Benefits. We also publish a FREE newsletter roughly two times per week with free tips and insights into the world of independent film distribution. This exists independently of the paid subscription and is available to all who request it. If you're not already receiving our FREE Distribution Tips newsletter you can sign-up to receive there FREE newsletter here as well as view the newsletter archives.
Is this site just for U.S. filmmakers or can filmmakers everywhere benefit from your resources? Film Specific is focused on distribution. That includes U.S. and international distribution. We have subscribers from all over the world who are benefitting from our resources.

What are the monthly subscription fees? Plans start at less than $25 per month. To break it down simply, that's about 83¢ per day. To see our subscription plans and what's included please see our Member Benefits. If an investment of $24.99 is too risky, this site is probably not right for you.
If I join Film Specific as a paid subscriber, can I cancel? If you subscribe one of our monthly recurring billing plans, you absolutely can cancel at anytime. Instructions for doing so are included in the "Your Account" section of the site, accessible under SUPPORT CENTER in the site's main left navigation panel.
I made a film, what do I do next? What you do with your film depends entirely on the film itself as well as your needs. Whether you are seeking traditional distribution or are planning to self-distribute, Film Specific was created to help filmmakers navigate the murky and often misunderstood waters of independent film distribution. I'm receiving duplicate copies of your newsletter. Why? You have probably subscribed to the newsletter more than once. Please follow the directions below to unsubscribe from the duplicate.
I would like to stop receiving your newsletter. How can I unsubscribe? At the bottom of every newsletter is a link which says "unsubscribe." Simply click the link and choose to no longer receive e-mail communication and you will be removed from our mailing list.
Are you a sales agency or producer's rep? No, we are not a sales agency or producer's rep. No, we do not represent films. We are an educational resource for filmmakers.

I need some legal advice, can I get it here? Film Specific is NOT a legal resource. If you are in need of legal advice or counsel we suggest you contact a qualified and reputable attorney.
I need financing for my film...can you help me? Film Specific is focused on distribution, NOT financing. Additionally, we are neither financiers or investors nor do we find investors for films.
How do I join if I don't have a credit card? To sign up for our free trial or become a monthly subscriber you will need to join with a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, and American Express accepted) or debit card (debit must be a Visa or Mastercard). We may consider alternate forms of payment for our yearly plan (ONLY) such as PayPal or personal check but this must be arranged and we must agree to it in advance. Once your check arrives it must clear before your subscription is activated. Unless you have arranged to join one of the yearly plans via PayPal in advance DO NOT send a PayPal payment...it will NOT be accepted. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PAYMENT BY WIRE TRANSFER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
