Before getting to heavily involved in filmmaking, I knew the ins and outs of film festivals, but was not as quite as versed when it came to film markets. I didn't know what went on there, I had no idea of who attends the markets or anything. Therefore, Stacey Parks's guidance and counseling became instrumental in my success at this year's American Film Market (AFM '08). I could not have made the contacts that I made or had a "post-market feeling of tremendous success" if it had not been for Stacey's coaching. She put me in touch with the right people, gave me wonderful directives, and laid out a concise blueprint, tailor-made for me and my film, that put me in the appropriate position to be successful. THANK YOU STACEY!

"My partner and I had been beating the pavement looking for a distribution deal for the last year and a half. After marathon negotiations between attorneys, our first deal had fallen through. Now we had spent several thousand dollars in legal fees and had nothing to show for it. We continued to network and establish contacts in the entertainment arena to no avail. Then in February 2008 I met Stacey on a panel at the Hollywood Black Film Festival's Film Financing/Distribution conference. I joined FilmSpecific and was impressed with the resources available and even more so with Stacey's wealth of knowledge.
I signed on for the Lab. In a matter of days, Stacey had referred me to several sales agents/distributors and to make a long story short, we signed a deal with a reputable company and now our products will be represented at MIPCOM! I can't tell you how invaluable Stacey has been to us. If you are serious about taking your content to the next level you would be foolish not to let Stacey assist you. We can't say enough about her. We are forever in her debt. Every penny we invested in the Lab has been well spent."

"We had a very successful series of meeting with people from all parts of the world and believed we were moderately successful in out first "look-and see" until, unexpectently in the most bizarre coincidence of circumstance, on the very last day of our visit we met with someone very entrenched in the business at a very high level, who had many mutual involvements with people he and I both knew from years gone by, who now wants to work wiith us.
We are in constant contact since then with this person and we believe that we could not have been more successful in our very first time at the AFM. All this has been ours thanks to Stacey.

FILM MARKET LABS
Upcoming markets: Berlin (Feb. 2009), MIPTV (April 2009), Cannes (May 2009)
DO YOU WANT YOUR HAND HELD THROUGH THE ENTIRE PROCESS OF GETTING YOUR FILM TO THE INTERNATIONAL FILM MARKETS?
If you have a completed film that you would like represented at upcoming film markets.... or a script in development that you would like to find a co-producing partner for...and you don't know where to begin the journey to actually GET THERE... then the Film Market Lab is for you.
WHAT IS THE FILM MARKET LAB?
The Film Markets Lab is a revolving, hands-on, one-on-one program for 25 film professionals from anywhere in the world, with completed films or scripts in development with significant attachments (cast and director), who want to launch their projects at the upcoming film markets.
WHY I CREATED THE FILM MARKET LAB...
After years of consulting filmmakers one-on-one for major markets, and placing them with well-respected Sales Agencies to represent their films, I finally decided to make a more 'formal' program out of it, and package together a suite of services that would best suit future clients. Et voila....the Film Markets Lab was born....
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FILM MARKET LAB?
Once accepted into the Lab, here's the program I've plotted out for you: For Completed Films...
• I will individually screen your film and curate a list of hand-picked sales agents and/or distributors (my personal contacts) who are appropriate for your film, and personally refer you to the acquisition executive so you have an automatic 'in' and foot in the door to getting your film screened for consideration.
• I will guide you through the submissions process, and help you follow up with the best options and offers you receive, so you can get the best deal possible.
• After you are safely in a representation deal, I will consult with you on the deliverables process and all the preparation necessary for going to market.
For Packaged Scripts....
• I will individually review your package and present you with recommendations for strengthening what you have
• I will recommend specific companies for your to approach with your package (my personal contacts) and assist you in setting up meetings to pitch your project during the markets
• I will assist you with getting together all the right presentation materials for your pitch meetings
DID I LEAVE ANYTHING OUT?
YES! For all participants in the Lab, not only will you receive the personalized services outlined above but everyone who is accepted will receive:
• A one-on-one phone consultation with me at any time during the Lab process to get all your questions answered FAST
• Unlimited email consultations with me any time during the Lab process
• A guided tour with me of the sales floors of specified markets (you must purchase your own credentials separately to participate)
While the Lab does not guarantee any 'done deals' for your film, I will do my level best to find you the representation and meetings you are looking for, and guide you by the hand through the entire process.
Think of it as having your very own 'concierge'!
BUT WAIT, THE FILM MARKET LAB ISN'T FOR EVERYONE...
Just to reiterate…to qualify you must have a completed film or program, or a script packaged with a director and cast attached. Acceptance to the Lab is by application only. Only the top applicants who are truly serious about getting their film or project represented at upcoming markets will be accepted. And I must be confident I can truly help you meet your goals.
WHAT KIND OF INVESTMENT DO I NEED TO MAKE TO JOIN THE LAB?
Consider this:
I've spent over 13 years cultivating the relationships with Sales Agencies and Distributors that I'm going to be referring you to and that you can benefit from at once.
For a small fraction of your project's budget, you'll be making a true investment in your career...
The Film Market Lab fee is $1997 and includes everything listed above PLUS one free year of Premium Film Specific membership (valued at $197).
Only a maximum of 25 people will be accepted
