WHAT IS THE FILM MARKET PACKAGING & CO-PRODUCTION LAB?

The Film Market Packaging & Co-Production Lab is a hands-on, one-on-one program for a limited number of film professionals from anywhere in the world, with scripts or documentaries in development, who want to launch their projects at upcoming film markets. The Lab focuses on assisting filmmakers with attaching marketable cast and other elements to their projects and/or matching filmmakers with appropriate potential international co-production partners.

WHY I CREATED THE FILM MARKET PACKAGING & CO-PRODUCTION LAB...

Packaging for independent films has become a crucial component to getting independent projects off the ground. Given that distribution, sales, and major production companies, are not focused on developing indie films, they want the elements in place to ensure the project is worth their investment. A good script is great but it's rarely enough. But a full package in place is a reason for these companies to say "yes." So the Film Market Packaging & Co-production Lab was born...utilizing my own expertise of the names who "sell" in the international marketplace, and how to approach and pitch sales, distribution, and production companies for both narratives and docs, the Film Market Packaging & Co-Production Lab assists filmmakers in presenting a complete package to maximize their chances of getting their projects picked up.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FILM MARKET PACKAGING & CO-PRODUCTION LAB?

Once accepted into the Packaging & Co-Production Lab, here's the program I've plotted out for you:

• I will read your narrative script and provide you with a list of realistic actors whom you can approach who are considered sellers in both the U.S. and international marketplace

• For Docs, I will review your treatment and help you format in a way that will attract potential buyers and financiers • I will individually review your "pitch" package and present you with recommendations for strengthening what you have

• I will recommend specific companies for your to approach with your package (my personal contacts) and assist you in setting up meetings to pitch your project during upcoming film markets OR if you are unable to attend the Film Markets, I will meet with the companies on your behalf

• I will assist you with getting together all the right presentation materials for your pitch meetings

WHAT ARE YOU RESPONSIBLE FOR & WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

• You are responsible for making offers to the actors I recommend to you, or hiring a casting director to do that for you

• You are responsible for having SOME funding in place in order to go out and MAKE offers to cast

• You must have a realistic budget and be flexible in scaling it up or down if necessary

YES! For all participants in the Film Market Project Packaging & Co-Production Lab, not only will you receive the personalized services outlined above but everyone who is accepted will receive:

• A one-on-one phone consultation with me at any time during the Lab process to get all your questions answered FAST

• Unlimited email consultations with me for 90 days

While the Lab does not guarantee any 'done deals' for your film, I will do my level best to find you the meetings you are looking for, and guide you by the hand through the entire process.

Stacey Parks is an expert in the area of independent film distribution, with over 13 years experience working with independent film producers. As a Foreign Sales Agent she has secured distribution for hundreds of independent features and programs worldwide. She has sold independent films and programming to HBO, Showtime, Starz, PBS, A&E, BBC, SkyTV, NHK (Japan), RTL (Germany), Canal Plus (France), and countless others.
